-Dry cat food is the main staple for a hedgehog. Hedgehogs tend to need extra protein so they can be fed mealworms or lean cooked meats like chicken or turkey.
-Hedgehogs also can be fed any type of raw fruits and vegetables as well as applesauce and corn on the cob but we do not recommend lettuce or nuts.
- How much should you feed a hedgehog?
-We recommend one tablespoon twice a day once in the morning and once at night. Hedgehogs need a small quantity of protein each day in addition to the cat food.
- What's the average life span for a hedgehog?
-The average hedgehog lives 3-6 years old.
- Are there any diseases that a hedgehog can contract?
- There is one known genetic disease called " Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome." If your hedgehog would contract this rare disease in the first year, a full refund or replacement would be warranted.
- Should my family choose a male or female hedgehog?
- Hedgehog temperaments do not depend on gender but the males do tend to be more active. Pogstar testing is a more accurate representation of personality.
